The music streaming service Spotify was offline for more than an hour for users around the world on Wednesday.
Users could only play songs that were already downloaded to their devices. And in many cases, songs are cut out after just a few seconds.
The problems started around 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday and affected both free and paid users. The company has nearly 300 million users.
Spotify didn't say what was causing the problem.
The tech giant tweeted of its customer care account, just saying it was "aware of some issues right now".
About 90 minutes after the initial reports, the company tweeted with no further explanation that "all is well to look happy."
Downdetector, a website that tracks outages on popular services, registered thousands of reports around the world – including the US, UK, and Australia.
However, podcasts in the Spotify app seemed to work for some users during the interruption.
The company saw a surge in paying users during the coronavirus pandemic, adding six million new premium subscribers in the first quarter of the year.
