Professional pickleball players run a clinic in Bethany Beach and encourage the growth of the sport

BETHANY BEACH, Delaware — Professional pickleball players made their way to the Sea Colony Tennis Center in Bethany Beach, where they helped local players improve their game and played a friendly against staff members.

The sport is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Sea Colony said there are now more people coming to rent out and play pickleball than tennis.

Pro PickleBall pros James Ignatowich and Anna Bright provided several training courses on the sport, helping players of all ages and fitness levels improve their game.

“I feel like I’m like a start-up in a huge company. You can be older and play along for one practice and it will be fun because it’s so easy. It is much easier. I think that’s the biggest thing, just getting so many different people to try it once, and we’ll find people who stick with it,” Ignatowich said.

Sea Colony Tennis said they are glad the top talent visited their facility in hopes of hosting a benefit pickleball tournament early next week.
