Climbing continues to grow in the Metro

The popular MW Climbing gym has been open in Lincoln for two years. Two weeks ago, Wendy and Matt, the co-founders of the gym, opened their second location. The two expanded into Metro, bringing MW Climbing to West Omaha. “It’s for everyone, believe me,” said co-founder Said Wendy Huynh. “I was very scared of heights when I first started climbing.” The space isn’t quite finished yet; Wendy and Matt plan to open a fitness center, coffee shop and yoga studio for their clients. Chris Zagurski drove to the Lincoln site several times a week with his fiancée. The couple lives in Gretna, which means their Omaha location saves them a lot of travel. Zagurski’s favorite part is analyzing the climbing. “You get stuck somewhere because you can’t move your foot or you fall,” Zagurski said. “So you’re like, ‘Huh,’ you come down, look back at the wall and you’re like, ‘What did I do wrong?'” The gym is suitable for all ages and skill levels.
