TALLADEGA, Ala. Persistent rain showers on Sunday afternoon forced NASCAR officials to move the YellaWood 500 on the Talladega Superspeedway.
The race had already been delayed by almost two hours when the teams rolled onto the track for pace laps in preparation for the start of the race on Sunday. After two pace laps, however, it began to rain again, which soaked the track and made it impossible to race before sunset.
For this reason, the race will now be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST. NBCSN will broadcast the race live.
The YellaWood 500 is the second race in the round of 16 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.
