The `’s sports schedule was further disrupted as more and more presenters pulled out of the shows after Gary Lineker was told to step down from hosting the Match Of The Day for impartiality reasons.
On Saturday morning, Alex Scott said she won’t be hosting Football Focus at lunchtime because it “doesn’t feel right” amid reports the ` had shut down the show.
Kelly Somers also confirmed she will not be presenting a ` show on Saturday, after former England footballers and MOTD regulars Alan Shearer and Ian Wright announced they were boycotting the show in solidarity with Lineker.
On Friday night, several commentators on the show issued a joint statement online announcing they would also be stepping down from Saturday’s broadcast.
` football presenter and former England player Scott wrote on Twitter: “I made a decision last night that even though I love my show and we’ve had an incredible week, it doesn’t feel right for me to go SJA for Soccer Focus have won ahead with the show today.
“Hopefully I’ll be back in the chair next week.”
Somers tweeted: “Just to confirm I will not be on ` TV today.”
