🔥 The hot ticket
Padres at Nationals, 7:05 p.m. | TV: MLB.TV
Latest Odds:
San Diego Padres-155
- The Choice: Padres (-160)
- key trend: The Padres are 8-3 in their last 11 games in Washington.
After losing nine of their last ten games, the Padres have won two in a row. I expect San Diego to keep winning against the Nationals.
Nationals starter Trevor Williams struggled as he has a 4.26 ERA and was very vulnerable with the long ball. The right-hander has given up three home runs in his last three starts, including two home runs for the Diamondbacks earlier this month. Additionally, Williams has a career 5.26 ERA in the game against the Padres.
It doesn’t hurt that the Padres have a very dangerous line-up that includes the likes of Fernando Tatis Jr, Juan Soto and Xander Boegarts. Soto defeated his former team in Tuesday’s 7-4 win by going 3-for-4 and hitting a solo home run. The Padres are also a very patient team who have 200 runs to their tally. Make sure the Padres score frequently to earn a win in this game.

Tigers at the Royals, 7:40 p.m. | TV: MLB.TV
Latest Odds:
under 9
The Choice: Under 9 (-120) – In a game where both pitchers have high ERAs, you’re mostly in the over. That is not the case in this competition.
Tigers starter Matthew Boyd may have a 6.21 ERA this season, but the left-hander has been pitching really well lately. Aside from giving up five and six earned runs in two separate starts, Boyd has hit three runs or fewer in six of his eight starts this season. Boyd has also given up three runs or fewer in two of his last three appearances.
On the other hand, Zack Greinke’s 4.82 ERA is also a bit misleading. Greinke has had a strong showing as the veteran right-hander has allowed two runs or fewer in three of his last four starts. Now, at the end of April, Greinke had a phase in which he gave up at least four earned runs in three consecutive starts, but apart from that he has an extremely good pitch. The Tigers and Royals are 25th and 26th in team batting averages, respectively. Both are .229 or less for the season. I just don’t think these two offenses are convincing against pitchers who throw the ball well.
Main trend: The Under is 5-1 in the Royals’ last six games.
Dodgers at Braves, 7:20 p.m. | TV: MLB Network
The Choice: Bryce Elder over 4.5 strikeouts (+102) – In a battle between the top two teams in the National League, it’s entirely possible that a lot of runs will be scored. However, I still have faith that the Dodgers will hit a couple of times this game.
Right-hander Bryce Elder was great in his second season with the team for the Braves. Elder has recorded at least six strikeouts in two of his last four starts, including six against the Mariners in his last outing. The Dodgers may have a dangerous offense, but they currently have 449 strikeouts (fifth in the majors) on record. In fact, Los Angeles has netted 21 in just the first two games of this series against the Braves. Look for Elder to get the five we need – and it’s a bonus that you get them at a plus price.
key trend: Elder has recorded at least six strikeouts in two of his last four starts.
