OMAHA (DTN) — December corn is up 1 cent a bushel, November soybeans are up 12 3/4 cents, September KC wheat is up 9 3/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 5 Up 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 6 1/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 283.75 points and crude oil is down $0.75 a barrel in September. The US dollar index is down 0.250 and gold is up $1.60 an ounce in December. Soybeans, soy flour and wheat are trading higher early Thursday while bean oil is lower and corn is little changed. There isn’t much news to buoy markets ahead of Friday’s August WASDE report, which is expected to show a drop in yields and production in corn and beans.
Posted 8:35 am – October live cattle are up $0.10 to $181.8, September feed cattle are up $0.05 to $250.675, October lean hogs are down $1.20 to $80.375 , December corn is down 1/4 cent a bushel and December soybean meal is flat. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 271.83 points. Net beef sales in 2023 came in at 14,800 tons, up 19% from the previous week but 8% below the previous four-week average. The three main customers were South Korea (5,300 tons), Japan (2,600 tons) and China (2,400 tons). Net sales of 22,300 tons of pork in 2023 were up 25% from the previous week and 3% from the previous four-week average. The three main customers were Mexico (6,000 tons), Japan (4,500 tons) and China (3,000 tons).
