Posted at 10:35 am – In morning trade December Corn is up 1 1/4 cents a bushel, November Soybeans are down 8 1/2 cents, September KC Wheat is down 8 3/4 cents, Chicago September Wheat is down 4 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis Wheat is down 1 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 46.24 points and crude oil is up $0.67 a barrel in September. The US dollar index is up 0.260 and gold is down $0.80 an ounce in December. With the USDA due to report in less than 30 minutes, corn should trade either side of Wednesday’s close, while soybean and winter wheat contracts post extended losses and spring wheat futures remain steady. Crude oil is rising after the International Energy Agency reported record global demand of 103 million barrels a day in June, and could rise even further in August.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 98.41 points and Crude Oil is down $0.13 a barrel in September. The US dollar index is up 0.240 and gold is down $1.20 an ounce in December. The USDA announced new corn sales to Mexico: 143,637 tons or 5.65 million tons were sold for the 2023-24 period. There was a sudden turnaround on the grain and soybean markets and they are now trading at a daily low. I’m not sure what got into the soybeans, which are now almost 10 cents and 12 cents off peak.
Posted 8:39 AM — Livestock is down $0.18 in October to $182.35, forage cattle is down $0.03 to $251.55 in September, lean hogs are down $0.15 to $80.175 in October down, corn is down 1 1/4 cents a bushel in December and soybean meal is down $0.10 in December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 99.61 points. The livestock complex is met with mixed interest from traders at its launch on Friday. The market is likely to be muted until the WASDE report is released this morning.
