ICE Appoints Caterina Caramaschi to Head of Combined Global Interest Rate and Equity Derivatives Product Portfolio | news

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE), a leading global provider of data, technology and market infrastructure and home of the most liquid markets for trading FTSE®, MSCI® and European multi-currency interest rate derivatives, today Caterina Caramaschi as head of a combined portfolio , covering ICE’s global interest rate and equity derivatives futures and options.

Caramaschi, who will become Vice President Financial Derivatives, has been with ICE and formerly LIFFE for 21 years. Since December 2020 she has been Global Head of Equity Derivatives at ICE.

In her new role, Caramaschi will assume responsibility for ICE’s interest rate futures markets, which include ICE’s benchmark futures Euribor, UK Gilt, SONIA, SARON and mortgage rate locks, as well as its global equity derivatives complex, which provides clients with the most liquid markets in around the world to trade derivatives based on MSCI® and FTSE® indices as well as the NYSE FANG+® index.

Open interest in Euribor is up 85% y/y to approximately 18 million contracts, with average daily volume (ADV) up 83% to 1.47 million contracts, reflecting how clients are using Euribor Using futures and options to manage Euro-denominated interest rate risk and expectations for the Eurozone economy.

ADV in ICE’s equity derivatives complex is up 16% year-on-year to approximately 456,000 contracts, with approximately 4.5 million contracts open interest, while ADV in ICE’s MSCI® futures is up 21% year-on-year, with an open interest of about 1.84 million. Across ICE’s FTSE® complex, ADV is up 7% year-on-year to 184,400 contracts, with open interest up 8% year-to-date to about 2.6 million.
