The Queen is the first British monarch to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70th anniversary on the throne. Her historic reign will be celebrated next month over a four-day weekend between June 2nd and 5th. Celebrations begin with the monarch’s annual birthday parade, also known as Trooping the Color, and also include a Royal Derby Thanksgiving service and a celebrity-studded pageant finale.
On Friday, the Sunday Times published the 2022 Rich List of the 250 richest people or families in the UK.
Despite her status as Queen of England, there are many celebrities who have amassed fortunes greater than the monarch’s – including a few famous faces who will be seen at the centenary celebrations.
The monarch’s personal fortune is reportedly £370million; Here are six surprising celebrities richer than the Queen:
1. Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault

The actress has built a successful career in Hollywood after starring in several notable films and TV series such as Frida, Grown Ups and Ugly Betty.
Hayek is married to François-Henri Pinault, 59, the CEO of luxury brand Kering, which owns brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen.
Together they have a net worth of £7.125 billion making them one of the richest families in Hollywood.
2. Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell

McCartney, 79, is one of the richest musicians in the world with an estimated fortune of £865million.
The 2022 Rich List release comes while the former Beatle is halfway through his Got Back tour.
In addition to his successful solo career, McCartney also earns money from the Beatles’ previously released music.
Due to his larger share of songwriting royalties, McCartney’s net worth is significantly larger.

3.JK Rowling
The Harry Potter author is one of the highest-earning and most popular authors and has sold more than 500 million books on the wizarding world of Hogwarts.
56-year-old Rowling is thought to have made more than £1billion from her books over the years, but is thought to have made a further £200million from the Harry Potter films.
She has a net worth of £850m, up £30m from 2021.

4. Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty
Sunak, 42, and his heiress have amassed a combined fortune of £730million.
The Chancellor is the first front-line politician to be on the Sunday Times rich list.
Murty, 42, is the daughter of billionaire NR Narayana Murthy, co-founder of IT giant Infosys and one of India’s richest men.
She owns 0.93 per cent of the company in her own name – a stake worth around £690million.

5. Mr. Elton John
With 32 albums and more than 300 million records sold in a career spanning six decades, Sir Elton, 75, is one of the most successful British singers of all time.
He has amassed a fortune selling his music and continues to make money from his previous releases.

6.David and Victoria Beckham
The Beckhams rose to fame in the 1990s – when Victoria, 48, was a member of the Spice Girls, the best-selling girl group in history, and David, 47, became a household name for his football career.
