Among Showbizlandia’s big winners was actor Robin Padilla, who not only won, but led the Senate race with more than 26 million votes.

In Quezon City — dubbed the “City of Stars” — actor-turned-politician Arjo Atayde was hailed as Quezon City’s 1st District Congressman, while Aiko Melendez and Alfred Vargas won as Quezon City’s 5th District Councilors. Var-gas’s brother, PM, won as 5th District Congressman; Raffy Tulfo’s son Ralph was named Congressman for Quezon City’s 2nd Circuit.

Meanwhile, Vico Sotto, son of actor and comedian Vic Sotto, has been named Mayor of Pasig City. Former Dodot basketballer Robert Jaworski Jr. won vice mayor. Actor Kiko Rustia and actress Angelu de Leon were both proclaimed councilors of Pasig’s first and second districts, respectively.

Vandolph Quizon and Jomari Yllana were appointed councilors of the 1st district of Parañaque. Ryan Yllana is also elected Councilor for the 2nd District of Parañaque.

Basketball players Paul Anthony Artadi and James Yap won San Juan First Circuit councilors. Sunshine Cruz’s boyfriend, Macky Mathay, also won as a councilman for San Juan’s 2nd Circuit.

Actor Yul Servo has defeated fellow actor Raymond Bagatsing for Vice Mayor of Manila. Comedian Lou Veloso was elected Councilor of Manila’s 6th Ward.

Heading to the provinces, former Pinoy Big Brother roommate Ejay Falcon has been named Lieutenant Governor of Oriental Mindoro. Niña Jose-Quiambao, also a former “Pinoy Big Brother” roommate, is now the new mayor of the city of Bayambang in Pangasinan, replacing her husband, outgoing Mayor Cezar Quiambao.

Lucy Torres-Gomez was named Mayor of Ormoc City while her husband Richard Gomez was hailed as Leyte’s 4th Circuit Congressman.

Jason Abalos was elected Board Member of the 2nd District of Nueva Ecija. Dan Fernandez won representing Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Lani Mercado was hailed as Congresswoman for Cavite’s 1st District. Their son, Jolo Revilla, won as Congressman for Cavite’s First District. Nash Aguas won as a councilor in the lonely district of Cavite.

Jay Khongun, friend of Aiko Melendez, was hailed as Congressman Zambales’ first district, Olongapo.

Daniel Fernando was re-elected governor of Bulacan while Alex Castro became lieutenant governor of Bulacan. Actor Javi Benitez, friend of Sue Ramirez, is the new mayor of Negros Occidental.

However, not all stars were so lucky.

Nationally, Tito Sotto lost in third place in the vice presidential race, while Herbert Bautista and Monsour del Rosario, third, failed to make the Senate top 12.

Roderick Paulate, Bobby Andrews and Melissa Mendez all did not receive enough votes to be elected councilors in various Quezon City boroughs.

It was the same story for Arci Muñoz and Dennis Padilla, who were hoping to enlist as councilors for Cainta and Caloocan, respectively; Claudine Barretto and Arnold Vegafria (aldermen and mayors of Olongapo City); Richard Yap (Congressman, 1st District of Cebu City); and Imelda Papin (Governor, Camarines Sur).
