Get ready for Celebrity Jeopardy!

When ABC announced its fall 2022-2023 show schedule on May 17, one of the most exciting new shows for the Alphabet Network is a new primetime show Celebrity Jeopardy! The annual week-long Celebrity Jeopardy tournaments of the ’90s – and hilarious fodder for Saturday Night Live parody – that have become increasingly sporadic of late are back in a brand new, high-stakes Celebrity Jeopardy! in the ABC lineup on Sunday night. The game show will debut alongside the return of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

Here’s what we know so far about the Celebrity Jeopardy primetime spinoff of the popular series hosted by the deceased Alex Trebeck for 38 seasons.

What is Celebrity Jeopardy!?

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, Celebrity Jeopardy is a new primetime game show featuring celebrity contestants battling to raise money for a charity of their choice.

When is Celebrity Jeopardy coming out! Premiere?

Celebrity Danger! airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. No premiere was released.

When is Celebrity Jeopardy! At?

Celebrity Danger! will take place at 8:00 p.m. ET. The show takes place between America’s Funniest Home Videos at 7:00 p.m. and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune at 9:00 p.m

Who will be in Celebrity Jeopardy?

ABC didn’t reveal who is on Celebrity Jeopardy! Now. The participants will be announced at a later date.

Celebrity Danger! has featured over 200 celebrity attendees over the years, including Anderson Cooper, Lauren Graham, Jodie Foster, Ashton Kutcher, Nathan Lane, Chris Matthews, Harry Connick Jr., Neil Patrick Harris, Lynn Redgrave, LeVar Burton, Andy Richter, David Duchovny, Wayne Brady, Star Jones, Jane Seymour, Jason Alexander , Regis Philbin, Pat Sajak, Sam Waterston, Mike Piazza, Larry King, Buzz Aldrin, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tom Clancy, Kirsten Dunst, Naomi Judd, Kelsey Grammer, Charles Shaughnessy, Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr., Stephen King and Carol Burnett.

Who is hosting Celebrity Jeopardy!?

According to an ABC press release, “a host will be announced at a later date.” However current Jeopardy! co-host Maiim Bialik should be the most likely choice. Back in August 2021, Sony chose her to host Jeopardy! Prime time specials and spinoffs. No host was mentioned in the ABC announcement, but Erwich told Variety the omission meant nothing. “…we’re just not ready yet, but we will be soon…I wouldn’t read into that.”

May 6 Jeopard! co-host, Ken Jennings, shared that he was taking a break from hosting, handing over the reins to Bialik for several months. “I’m returning the keys to the talented actor-producer-writer-director(!) @missmayim for a few months,” he tweeted. “We’re lucky to have her! Thanks for watching and I’ll be back before the end of the season.”

Will Celebrity Jeopardy! be similar to the 90’s version?

We do not know yet! Sony and ABC have not offered details on the format for the new Primetime Celebrity Jeopardy. Back to the 1990’s Celebrity Jeopardy! took place every year and lasted one week. In the decades that followed, the special was not seen often in the 2000s and 2010s. The last celebrity tournament took place in May 2015.
