So You Think You Can Dance is an American dance competition show that has been around since 2005. A wide variety of judges have come and gone on the show over the years, from Nigel Lythgoe to Mary Murphy to Adam Shankman to Mia Michaels. Now that Matthew Morrison is leaving the show, it’s time to take a look at some of the celebrities we’d like to see judge on SYTYCD.
From award-winning actors and singers to professional dancers and choreographers, there are many celebrities who could bring something special to the jury. Here are ten celebrities we’d love to see judge on SYTYCD.
1.Jennifer Lopez
The multi-talented singer, actress and dancer has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades and is no stranger to dance competitions. She was a judge on American Idol for several seasons and also served as a mentor on World of Dance.
2.Paula Abdul
The former pop star was one of the original judges on American Idol and also served as a judge on X Factor USA. Her experience judging singing competitions makes her an ideal choice for So You Think You Can Dance.
3.Justin Timberlake
The singer/actor/producer is an avid dancer who has appeared in many music videos and live performances throughout his career. He also starred in the film Friends With Benefits which featured some impressive dance sequences.
4. Derek Hough
The professional dancer/choreographer is best known for his performances on Dancing With The Stars, but also served as a guest judge on SYTYCD’s tenth season in 2013. He would be an excellent addition to the judging panel if he ever returns as a regular.
5. Julianne Hough
Like her brother Derek, Julianne Hough is a professional dancer/choreographer who appeared on SYTYCD during season ten in 2013 along with her brother Derek Hough as a guest judge. She could easily rise to the rank of judge at SYTYCD if she had one more chance.
6.Ciara
The singer has been performing since 2004 and has released several hit singles throughout her career, including “Goodies”, “Promise”, “Ride” and “Level Up”. Their songs were featured in Step Up 2: The Streets, which featured some amazing dance sequences.
7. Pit bull
Pitbull is no stranger to dancing or performing on stage, so it would be interesting to see him on the SYTYCD judging panel. His experience with Latin music could bring something unique to the show if he ever gets the chance.
8. Jenna Dewan
Jenna Dewan began her career as a backup dancer before moving into acting roles like “Step Up,” which propelled her career to stardom. She is currently the original presenter of World Of Dance, so she knows exactly what it takes to thrive in this industry.
9. Ellen Degeneres
Ellen Degeneres is known for being funny, but she’s also quite talented when it comes to dancing. She often flaunts her moves in various segments of her talk show. So it would be great if she ever got the chance to join the SYTYCD judging panel.
10. Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore began her career as an actress before turning to music where she released several hit singles including “Candy” which went double platinum in Australia. She’s also no stranger to dancing, having acted in films like A Walk To Remember and Tangled. It would be great if Moore ever got the opportunity to join the SYTYCD jury.
