Only three guys from New Jersey take the stage! The Jonas Brothers – consisting of Nick, Kevin And Joe Jonas – The tour kicked off on August 12, 2023 with two shows at Yankee Stadium before moving on to other venues around the world. The highly anticipated tour follows the release of the group’s sixth studio album, The Album, in May 2023.
“It’s going to be a pretty magical way to kick off the tour,” Joe teased during an interview with Variety ahead of the Yankee Stadium shows. “We’ve been in rehearsals for about a month now.”
For his part, Nick also teased many surprise guests at the show.
“You’re very famous,” he shared. “The surprise will be a combination of different things that don’t necessarily involve us. In other words, I’ll be excited to watch this moment backstage and see how the audience reacts.”
Maybe he was referring to that Jimmy Fallon sings “Mr. Brightside” from “The Killers” during the second Yankee Stadium show. However, that wasn’t the only prominent guest. John Bellion, Kirk Franklin and of course her former bodyguard, big rob (whose real name is Robert Fegans), accompanied the Jonas Brothers on stage throughout the evening.
During the first two nights of the tour, the trio played through almost their entire discography, playing songs from five albums – Jonas Brothers, A Little Bit Longer, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, Happiness Begins and The Album. Ahead of the big tour, Joe revealed to Variety that they performed the show to a happy group of 200 longtime listeners.
“They were very engaged the whole time,” he shared. “I feel like it’s really easy to digest even if you’re not a big fan. But actually for us it’s like walking through the past with our fans. It’s really great to see how many of our fans are growing up with us. Many of them are our age, if not older. As I watched the dress rehearsal, I thought, ‘This fan was on a school tour that we did in 2007 or 2008.’”
