Cars aren’t just a means of getting around in the city – they’re a status symbol.
The world’s most expensive car in 2019 was the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, valued at around $19 million. The alleged owner of the car is football player and car collector Cristiano Ronaldo. That amazing price was surpassed in May 2022 when a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Gullwing Uhlenhaut was sold to a private buyer for $142.5 million. While that’s tens of millions for a single car, many other celebrities have garages full of luxury vehicles.
CoPilot used its Price Pulse tool to compile a list of 10 celebrity-driven cars and their estimated current market values. If pricing information was not available for the exact year of the celebrity car model, the year used to calculate the price is given in the data.
Music artists and moguls Jay-Z and Beyoncé have at least 24 vehicles in their shared collection. TV presenter Jay Leno owns a collection of 181 cars and 160 motorcycles valued at an estimated $52 million.
Buying an expensive car is not enough for many stars. They went one step further and customized their vehicles to make them even more distinctive. Paris Hilton customized a pink Bentley GT Continental, Flo Rida chromed his Bugatti Veyron and Ice-T customized his onyx-bodied Bentley. Some celebrities have gone the opposite way, opting for standard budget models to avoid unwanted attention. For example, Jennifer Lawrence drives a Volkswagen Eos, and Leonardo DiCaprio drives a Toyota Prius.
