Use settlement prices, readjustments and open interest – TradingView Blog

Today we are introducing some improvements to the futures data provided by Borsa Istanbul. Gold, silver and other futures are now displayed with additional features, making the data more visible and accurate. Let's see what updates are now accessible through your charts.

Settlement price in the chart

With this update you can choose either the settlement price or the last price as the closing value of the contracts displayed in the chart. The settlement price represents the value set by the exchange at the end of a trading day, which is calculated from the average values of the last offers and bids. Traders often use it to get a more transparent overview of the profits and losses associated with their positions.

To switch between the “Settlement” and “Last Price” options, simply click the “SET” button at the bottom of the chart or select “Use Settlement as Close Price in Daily Interval” in the chart settings.

Please note that the settlement price is not displayed in intraday intervals. For more information on billing and latest prices, see this article.

Readjustment of previous contracts

You can now retroactively adjust previous contracts in BIST continuous futures. This feature is particularly valuable because it adjusts previous contract prices to account for the impact of rollovers, effectively closing the gap created by price differences between different contracts. This adjustment provides a clearer and more accurate picture of price movements over time.

To enable this feature, simply click the B-ADJ button at the bottom of the chart or select the “Adapt to Contract Changes” setting from the menu. For more information, see our Help Center.

Open interest

Finally, we introduced the ability to track the open interest value for futures. This feature not only shows the number of derivative contracts still open and unsettled, but also helps in assessing market sentiment. Open Interest allows traders to monitor investor interest in a particular futures contract, which can help make more informed decisions. To access this data, simply go to the “Indicators, Metrics and Strategies” menu and select the Open Interest indicator.

We hope these Borsa Istanbul futures updates will help you better understand the futures markets and develop more thoughtful strategies. Don't forget that our platform reliably connects to hundreds of data feeds and provides direct access to 1,357,880 instruments from around the world. All of this makes TradingView your only entry point needed for all markets.
