Your sweat can help you stop sweating thanks to naturally occurring minerals like salt and calcium, which block the sweat ducts and can act as an antiperspirant.
Jonathan Boreyko of Virginia Tech was inspired to research the possible antiperspirant properties of sweat after an intense game of squash when he noticed salt crystals had formed on his skin.
“If you could evaporate the sweat while it was still in the sweat duct, that sticky white salt build-up could clog the duct,” he says.
