On a triumphant day in Paris, five members of the GB boxing squad secured Olympic qualification as Charley Davison, Caroline Dubois, Lauren Price, McCormack and Ben Whittaker guaranteed their seats in Tokyo 2021.
Victories for Frazer Clarke and Cheavon Clarke, who are now a win from Tokyo 2021 and have already qualified, Galal Yafai rounded off a brilliant day for the GB boxing team, which won all eight fights.
The UK now has seven boxers guaranteed to compete in this summer’s Olympics, with the possibility of four more joining today.

The triumphant Saturday began with a win for Luke McCormack, who overcame a tough challenge from Turk Tugrulhan Erdemir to take a split-decision win in his lightweight competition to secure his spot at Tokyo 2021 as the third member of the GB boxing squad .
In the next round of the tournament he will meet Enrico Lacruz from Holland.
77 places at Tokyo 2021 are available in Paris. The last 13 Olympic places (8 men, 5 women) available to boxers from Europe are assigned according to a ranking system.
Although boxers will secure Olympic qualification at various stages of the Paris tournament, the competition will continue through to medal stages and a final in all 13 weight classes.
The event is a continuation of the Tokyo qualification in London, which was suspended after three days of competition in March 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak and the resulting pandemic.
