Justin Miller, the Brooks family members legal professional, informed CNN’s Ana Cabrera on Sunday that a police officer’s initial comment right after the deadly shooting of Rayshard Brooks is “extremely disturbing.”
Fulton County District Lawyer Paul Howard’s explained to CNN “we in fact get a prospect to listen to the officer’s initially statement just after the taking pictures took place. And what the officer claimed is not that his existence was saved. What his assertion was, he stated, ‘I obtained him.'”
Miller explained he and the spouse and children are mindful of the “I received him” statement.
That was extremely disturbing to myself, my partner Chris, and Tamika, his widow. Pretty disturbing,” Miller reported.
Miller also talked about the autopsy, indicating they have not viewed the report, but they know some of the things that will be in it.
“We know he was shot two times in the back again. At the time in his mid-back and as soon as in his buttocks and all those photographs ended up killing him,” Miller said.
With regards to costs, Miller said “this is a little different than say George Floyd’s murder simply because it is continue to a murder, but the legalities just, they slide differently when there is a scuffle and a taser and then a fleeing man or woman who is killed.”
As for what Miller expects the costs to be, he stated “it most likely will not be murder.”
“Which is a extremely hard thing to cost,” Miller stated. “You know, you just look at all the other situations that have been a bit clearer and, you know, just as fatal to the shopper, and they were not charged with murder.”
Miller did say it was fantastic men and women and town leaders are having ways “to mitigate troubles.”
“But it is not justice, and we never really think it can ever be justice because a man’s lifestyle was taken, young children misplaced a father, and a spouse lost a partner.”
