Noting that the announcement came with “heavy hearts,” officials confirmed Saturday that the two bodies recovered from a yard in Idaho were being the remains of the missing small children of “doomsday cult” mom Lori Vallow.
Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17, had been missing given that September. Their stays were located Tuesday, buried on the home of stepdad Chad Daybell, the former gravedigger who was Lori Vallow’s husband.
The pair is in custody in Fremont County, Idaho.
Buddies and household customers have said Lori was an attentive mother to the two children until she became concerned with Daybell in a religious group termed “Preparing a Folks.”
Daybell commonly spoke of close to-demise encounters, his acquaintances have claimed, and in 2001 authored a macabre memoir: “One Foot in the Grave: The Unusual But Legitimate Adventures of a Cemetery Sexton.”
“The continues to be ended up taken to the health care examiner’s business office where by an autopsy and positive identification was done,” the Rexburg Police Department said in a assertion.
“It is with weighty hearts that we now validate that people remains have been officially determined as people of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan,” the assertion stated.
“It is not the final result we experienced hoped, to be able to come across the little ones safe,” the statement extra.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the households of JJ and Tylee.”
