Two law enforcement officers endured slight accidents, the Met has explained.

The home secretary and the Police Federation have condemned an incident in which two law enforcement officers were allegedly assaulted.

Online video filmed by an onlooker circulating on the web shows an officer battling on the floor with a person in Frampton Park Highway in Hackney, north London.

The attack was named “sickening” by Priti Patel, even though the federation reported: “We are not society’s punch bags.”

Two guys, aged 20 and 38, ended up arrested on suspicion of assault on law enforcement.

The officers, a male and a woman, endured slight injuries but did not have to have clinic remedy, the Satisfied Police stated.

A member of the general public, who experienced claimed to have been assaulted, flagged down the police on Wednesday afternoon.

Footage seems to present the officer attempting to restrain a male but they then tumble to the ground with the officer pinned beneath.

Passers-by started filming and taking selfies as the officer and the suspect grappled.

The woman officer tried to preserve men and women away from the scene and also suffered injuries before more officers arrived and arrested the two males now in custody.

Ken Marsh, chairman of the Metropolitan Law enforcement Federation, claimed: “Still all over again this starkly exhibits the risks [officers] facial area and the bravery they demonstrate every and just about every day holding Londoners protected.

“We are not society’s punch luggage. We have families we want to go dwelling to at the end of every single change, but the hazards are stark and seemingly escalating.”

Supt Martin Rolston said: “This incident, which was captured on someone’s cellular cell phone is certainly surprising.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan mentioned: “I utterly condemn the disgraceful assault on two Metropolitan Police officers this afternoon.

“These brave officers were accomplishing their duty and assisting the public. We owe them a personal debt of gratitude.”
