The founder of business intelligence giant MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor, addressed the Bitcoin community and warned them of a new threat posed by the ongoing development of artificial intelligence technologies.
In mid-December, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson issued a similar warning.

The MicroStrategy founder took to social media platform Twitter/X to tell his followers that his security team had removed deep fake videos created using AI from YouTube. These scam videos showed Saylor, Bitcoin trading and cryptocurrency giveaway scams every 15 minutes, according to the Bitcoin Evangelist. His tweet included several “warning sign” emojis.
He warned the community, saying, “Be careful out there and remember there is no free lunch.” The screenshots Saylor posted show “he” talking about the Bitcoin ETF that has the Bitcoin -Price will likely push to the $1 million mark.
One of the commenters responded with an excerpt from one such AI-generated video, in which “Saylor” speaks during a “PBD” podcast, describes a “giveaway” and encourages users to scan a QR code and deposit Bitcoin to to get twice as much of it back – a typical cryptocurrency fraud scheme.
In December 2023, fraudsters armed with AI tools filmed videos with Charles Hoskinson, and now they have chosen Michael Saylor for it because he is a vocal Bitcoin evangelist and a prominent figure in the business and financial world.

In mid-December, Charles Hoskinson also commented on a tweet with a deep fake video in which he spoke of a “Cardano giveaway.” Hoskinson admitted that so far this video is imperfect and this is clearly visible; However, he believes that these AI-generated scam videos will become much more sophisticated in the next two to three years, and then hardly anyone will be able to distinguish reality from “AI fiction”.
Many experts assume that AI technologies will develop significantly in the next few years. Elon Musk, the founder of xAI and Grok chatbot, is one of them. He believes humanity is less than three years away from AI making new discoveries in physics, writing novels, and generally becoming significantly better at everything humans are good at.
