Familiarize yourself with the “stealth address system”.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published a new blog post over the weekend offering a “stealth address system” for developed privacy protections for blockchain users.

In his published blog post, Buterin emphasizes that the promise of privacy is still a major challenge for space and that “improving this matter is an important thing.” Stealth addresses are generated by wallets, scrambling public key addresses to negotiate in a private way. In order to access these private transactions, one must use a special key called “Spending Key”.

Privacy is still a major issue for the Ethereum space as the transaction is public on the blockchain. So far, there are only a few data protection mechanisms. One example that needs to be considered is Tornado Cash, which is subject to restrictions, Buterin pointed out, noting that it can only hide “fungible mainstream assets like Ethereum or mainly ERC-20s.”

Stealth addresses provide a mechanism to include privacy guarantees for non-fungible tokens (NFT) and also Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain names. An Ethereum researcher, Toni Wahrstatter, also revisited Buterin’s writing and expressed to a reliable media source: “Stealth addresses have many capabilities that can be used in any transaction where the communication between two bodies is not open to the public.” should be done.”

Wahrstatter put more emphasis on the stealth address system requirement for growth in daily crypto usage: “Imagine the donations in particular, or just paychecks,” noting that users might not want others to have their private transactions in a public one Experience blockchain.

“For example, if I go to the market to buy a certain product, I may not want that particular shopkeeper to give my personal information like the amount I earn and also the amount I spend,” Wahrstätter said. Stealth addresses are yet another very simple tool to improve complete network privacy.”
