The Range Rover Sport Autobiography is considered the most dynamic model yet, adding even more performance to its renowned luxury performance. An Ingenium 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged petrol PHEV hybrid adds to its heady stats: its 8-speed automatic transmission, 510bhp and 700Nm of torque propel the car from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds per hour and to a maximum of 150 miles per hour mph (242 km/h). Its performance is effortless, gliding past others on motorways and tackling slopes in Snowdonia with just a touch of the throttle. The Autobiography badge is truly a mark of distinction.

Several different driving modes allow the driver to adapt performance to the conditions or mood, switching from Eco or Comfort on long highways to Dynamic on country roads when necessary. The key to the smooth performance, however, is the handling package, which combines four-wheel steering and electronic active differential with torque vectoring. Dynamic Air Suspension introduces switchable volume air springs – a first for the Range Rover – with dual valve active dampers for ultimate agility, control and composure at all speeds and in all environments.

Luxury design, inside and out
Its dynamic luxury is not only noticeable in its performance. As with every Range Rover model, all aspects have been carefully designed by Gerry McGovern and his creative team. A muscular stance and taut surfaces embody the power and agility of the machine within, but beyond its instantly recognizable profile and proportions – in our Giola Green car – its modern details create a cleaner, more athletic character. The sportiness is reflected in the unobtrusive front grille, the digital LED lighting and the lower bumper with double opening. The most notable feature is the sculpted, full-length tailgate, accented by LED graphics. A shoulder line connects the two ends and is so smooth that even the door handles are flush with the body.

The same dynamic luxury continues inside the vehicle. The sculpted seats come with massage and heating functions, both nice perks in windy, wet North Wales. The cockpit is widened by the continuous console, only interrupted in the middle by a curved touchscreen that slopes down towards the passengers. Sustainable, lightweight fabrics in Light Cloud and Ebony options line the console and doors, providing a two-tone contrast to the natural black veneer dashboard and screens.

Towards the rear seats, the cabin opens with a nearly full-length skylight, flooding the interior with natural light and allowing all passengers a deep connection to nature. The powerful Meridian Sound System spreads the characteristic sound throughout the interior and is considered the most powerful system ever installed in a Range Rover Sport. 29 loudspeakers, a subwoofer and 1,430 W amplifier power create a curated entertainment cocoon for the passengers, which is only disturbed by exhaust fumes in dynamic driving mode. Further back, the load space in the trunk meets the utility criteria with a generous 647 liters.
