Now the base compass petrol is only available with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
According to a media report, Jeep will no longer offer the Compass in Sport Petrol MT trim. That leaves Compass Sport customers with petrol DCT and diesel MT options.
The Sport Petrol MT was the entry-level version of the Compass. It cost Rs 21.09 lakh (ex-showroom) and featured an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as automatic climate control and keyless entry.
The Compass Sport Petrol MT is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine with 156 hp and 250 Nm. Now that the 6-speed manual is no longer available, the base Compass petrol is only available with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The SUV is also available with a 2.0-liter diesel engine that produces 168 hp and 350 Nm. It is optionally equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
