The World Cup was streamed a record 104.7 million times on ` iPlayer and ` Sport.
The ` also had a TV reach of 38.8 million and 52.8 million unique browsers visiting ` Sport’s World Cup website.
A peak of 14.9 million tuned in to BBC1 to see Argentina win the World Cup on Sunday, with a further 7.1 million streams on iPlayer and ` Sport. BBC1 had an audience share of 58%, with a peak of 4.5 million opting to watch the game on ITV.
The ` has attracted large audiences throughout the World Cup, including 18.7, who watched England’s win over Wales in the group stage on all platforms. ITV had the rights to both of England’s knockout games and drew 20.4 million viewers to watch England beat Senegal in the round of 16 and 23 million to watch the loss to France in the quarter-finals, the biggest audience of the tournament to date on. 10 million watched the semi-final between France and Morocco on BBC1, with a further 3.8 million streaming.
