THE ANGEL — UCLA redshirt freshman center Grant Loth (Newport Beach, Calif./Mater Dei HS) has been named MPSF West/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week, the league office announced today.
Loth scored a goal in each of last week’s victories. His goal on his only shot in the 12-7 win over 11th UC Santa Barbara (October 20) started a three-goal run that resulted in a 3-3 draw in the second quarter. He added a drawn disqualification against the gauchos.
Loth also scored his only shot in the 10-9 win over No. 7 UC Davis (Oct. 22). His goal in the third quarter ended the game 3-3.
This is Loth’s first MPSF award in his career.
