Applications for the fourth round of the “Sport to Start-Up” program are open today.
The online course aims to help full-time Irish athletes start their own business while still competing or training.
It is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices and is funded by the Department for Enterprise, Trade and Employment through Enterprise Ireland.
Since its launch in 2020, over 60 people have completed the course, including Olympic medalist Gary O’Donovan and Paralympic medalists Michael McKillop and Niamh McCarthy.
The program covers all the key modules of starting a business – including market research and client validation, finance, company registration, digital tools, sales, pitching, legal and compliance, branding and marketing – right through to a business plan.
The next round of the program begins in mid-November and will run for three months.
