Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was the victim of another dissent, but this time it had nothing to do with his height. At least not directly.
NO; This time, Murray found himself at the bottom of a ranking compiled by CBS Sports’ Will Brinson.
NFL draft analyst Marcus Whitman has discovered the list of violations. He tweeted it, calling Murray “officially the most underrated player in pro sports.”
Murray himself noted this and made his own comment on the post.
Now I’ve spent some time trying to figure out what murray meant by that. I’m not sure if he meant to say he liked Whitman’s comment about him being the most underrated player in the sport, or ironically liked the slight.
Maybe it gives him strength. You know, maybe placing a few ranks below Kirk Cousins and the current version of Russell Wilson could start a fire under him. Bulletin board material, so to speak.
He’s like Rodney Dangerfield in that he doesn’t get respect.
Murray suffered a cruciate ligament injury that shortened his 2022 season. He is expected to play in 2023 but the timeframe for his recovery is not yet clear.
If he steps back onto the field (this time in the fresh new Cardinals jerseys minus DeAndre Hopkins), he may be playing with a chip on his shoulder.
