Look at everything good with the Tour de France, Tour de France Femmes and much more.Running from April 28th to May 5th, this is the second edition since the race was renamed La Vuelta Femenina, formerly called the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta and traditionally held in September.
At the 2023 event, the now retired Annemiek van Vleuten won the overall title by just nine seconds over Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime), and the former's absence this year means the race is wide open and wide open.
It also means that all nine previous winners of the race are now eliminated and it is certain that whoever triumphs this year will write their name in the history books with a first win at the Vuelta Femenina.
A 16km team time trial through the streets of Valencia will open in 2024, before slightly hillier but predominantly flat courses face the women's peloton in stages 2 to 4.
From there the race heads into the Pyrenees and some strenuous mountain passes with summit climbs on stage 5 (Cat. 2a Alto del Fuerte Rapitan), stage 6 (Cat. 1a La Laguna Negra Vinuesa) and the most daunting of all, stage 8, which ends on the category 1a climb to the Valdesqui ski resort in Madrid.
All eight stages of the race will be broadcast live and in full on SBS On Demand, with race replays available to follow all the post-stage action.
