Even after he left us, the legacy of Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Bill Russell lives on in the lives of the people he touched, whether it be other NBA players, coaches and executives, the fans, the fruits of their work, or the countless others who have benefited from his tireless advocacy.
To commemorate Russell’s historical impact on the sport of basketball, the folks on The Score’s YouTube channel put together a short clip intended to commemorate Russell’s impact on the game, which ultimately gave him a platform to be so much more into all over the world to do.
“Ultimately, it would be an insult to his outsized legacy to reduce Russell’s life and career to a moment, so instead we highlight the litany of ways in which Russell forever changed basketball,” they write.
