LONDON & AMSTERDAM & NEW YORK, February 20, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE), a leading global provider of technology and data, today announced that its global futures and options markets Open interest reached a record 90.2 million contracts on February 15, 2024, with ICE commodity futures and options markets reaching a record open interest of 61.8 million contracts on February 16, 2024.
ICE's energy futures and options portfolio reached a record open interest level of 57 million contracts on February 16, 2024, while its global natural gas futures and options reached a record open interest level of 38.5 Millions of contracts recorded.
On the same day, ICE TTF natural gas futures and options contracts reached a record open interest value of 3.9 million, a year-over-year increase of 92%, while TTF options contracts reached a record open interest value of reached almost 2 million. ICE's TTF contracts provide the most liquid markets to manage exposure to global natural gas prices as participants leverage liquidity through December 2032.

In terms of traded volumes, ICE's total options contracts reached a record trading volume of 34.7 million in January 2024, surpassing the previous monthly record set in August 2011, while ICE's commodity options traded a record 20.2 million contracts during the month .

ICE's global natural gas benchmarks include ICE Brent, which rates three-quarters of the world's crude oil traded, and the most liquid markets for trading environmental products, which help market participants meet emissions reduction targets.
