The data shows that Shiba Inu is performing better than BTC and ETH despite the $0.000045 decline since the beginning of the year

Market data confirms that Shiba Inu (SHIB) posted one of the biggest advances this year, outperforming market kings Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) year-to-date.

Investors have first and foremost focuses on Bitcoin amid the market uptrend due to its ongoing rally and position as the largest crypto asset. Ethereum has also attracted a lot of attention while most other altcoins have been pushed into the background.

Bitcoin and Ethereum up 67% and 68%, respectively, year-to-date

However, data shows that Shiba Inu is actually performing much better than both of these assets despite not receiving as much attention. Bitcoin has broken its previous all-time high and has moved into price discovery territory as it breaks through multiple resistance points above $70,000.

Nevertheless, despite record new all-time high prices, Bitcoin has not been the best performer year to date. Notably, BTC started the year at a price of $42,283. The asset has risen to its current price of $70,696, up 67% this year.

Similar, ether, which started the year at $2,281, saw impressive price performance, overcoming several resistance levels to trade at $3,844 at press time. At this current price, ETH has easily outperformed BTC this year, rising 68.5% year-to-date.

Shiba Inu outperforms with a YTD increase of 209%

Interestingly, Shiba Inu appears to have performed significantly better than both assets this year. SHIB changed hands at $0.00001036 earlier this year to consolidate its position above the $0.00001 level. The asset is now trading for $0.00003203, up a massive 209% year-to-date.

This shows that while Shiba Inu has not received as many accolades for its price rise as Bitcoin or Ethereum, the crypto asset has performed better than both assets this year. What is noteworthy is that Shiba Inu's resurgence this year occurred within a short period from February 26th to March 5th.

The cryptocurrency initially rose to a 27-month high of $0.00004567, up 340% year-to-date. However, SHIB has since collapsed from this high and corrected some of the gains from the previous uptrend. Despite the correction, the asset is still recording larger gains than Bitcoin.

One of the main reasons why Shiba Inu hasn't attracted as much attention based on its performance is the fact that it is still 176% away from reclaiming its 2021 ATH, while Bitcoin has broken its previous bull peak and continues to set new ones Highs reached.

Nonetheless, market analysts cite this as the main reason for expecting stronger price increases, as it suggests that Shiba Inu still has more room to grow. As a result, price predictions predict a rally the $0.01 area have materialized.
