Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, signed a cooperation agreement with Mohamed Lotfy, President of the British University in Egypt, to strengthen both sides’ efforts to spread financial culture.
The university would introduce students in various disciplines to the basics and principles of saving and investing in the money market and provide practical applications to experience the trading process by default in order to gain new skills and experience and increase the level of their knowledge, skills and experience to keep up with the demands of the labor market.
They opened the first integrated unit incorporating the latest equipment to introduce and qualify UK university students in the best knowledge and practices of the stock market trading process, as well as the skills of financial and technical analysis and other matters related to the investment process correct trading in the stock market, as the first unit of this kind in Egyptian universities, at the Faculty of Economics, Political Science and Business Administration of the British University in Egypt.
Mohamed Farid said the signing of the cooperation agreement with the British University is a step in line with the Egyptian Stock Exchange Management’s vision to develop the Egyptian stock market in a sustainable way, paying close attention to raising awareness and the financial culture community, especially students and schoolchildren.
Farid added that in addition to presenting a series of lectures that will explain to the students in a clear and simple way what the stock market is, the nature of its work, its location and its role in the Egyptian economy, the collaboration will include the fundamentals and principles of the Saving and Investing in Stocks, the training of students in the use of the trading simulation model developed by the Egyptian Stock Exchange Administration, which will take place within the integrated business unit, which includes the best equipment required for learning and application.
