Celebrities are mourning the loss of country music legend Toby Keith, who died after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
His family announced his death in a statement shared on social media on Monday.
“Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night on February 5th surrounded by his family. He fought his battle with grace and courage. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” the message read.
Stars including golfer John Daly, singer-songwriter Randy Houser and actor Garrett Hedlund paid tribute to the late country star in the comments section of the announcement on Instagram.

“God bless you and your family. It’s hard to imagine an America without Toby Keith,” Houser wrote.
In 2021, Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer and took an indefinite hiatus from recording new music and live performances. However, he continued to raise funds for childhood cancer research through his Toby Keith Foundation.
