Toby Keith, Hoda Kotb and more stars are mourning the loss of Jimmy Buffett after the legendary “Margaritaville” singer died on Friday, September 1, at the age of 76.
“The pirate is over,” Keith, 62, wrote on Saturday September 2nd via X (formerly known as Twitter). “RIP Jimmy Buffett. Huge impact on so many of us.”
Kotb, 59, added that she thinks Buffett is “joy personified” and “kindness personified.” The Today anchor also recalled introducing her mother to Buffett. “I remember the time he met my mom at Jazzfest and showered her with love… like he’d known her all his life,” she wrote of X. “I bet he’s done that to millions of people a million times over.” .”
Buffett’s team announced his death via Instagram on Saturday, noting that the legendary musician “passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by family, friends, music and dogs.”
