The Hottest Male Irish Actors, Musicians, and Celebrities of 2023

If you’re confused about the Hollywood writers’ strike, Colin Farrell has likely cleared things up for you. The actor sent the internet into a frenzy when he recently walked the picket line in LA and gave an impassioned interview about the rights of writers, actors and creators while wearing a SAG-AFTRA t-shirt and with his sleeves just rolled up So . His hair slicked back with a matching black headband, he explained, “Greed turns some of the smartest people on this planet into the biggest fools.” Between the anti-capitalist rhetoric, passion for a good cause, and again the headband — he might be one one of the few men in the world who can wear this hair accessory with aplomb – Farrell, who was born in Castlerock, Ireland, confirmed once and for all that famous Irish people are having their best summer ever.

Long overshadowed by their British neighbors, Irish men have been overlooked for their equally seductive accents, willingness to brood and ability to look good in literally any jumper. For example, Taylor Swift didn’t do a song called Dublin Boy. Instead she sings about the charms of British men, high tea and the West End – “They say home is where the heart is,” she sings, “But god I love the English.” But this summer, with Irish men on the picket lines, at the box office and on TikTok, they’re finally getting their due prominence. Here is an extremely important taxonomy of Irish beauties. And remember, Jamie Dornan and Jonathan Rhys Meyers walked so these men could run.

We’ve already mentioned the political agenda, the brawn and the headband of the right side of the story, and honestly there’s not much more to it than that. Joanna Robinson aptly put it on Twitter: “Some of us have been dedicated Colin girls from the start, even through the bad times, and he constantly rewards us for that loyalty.”

Cillian Murphy

The disturbing Irish hottie

With his gua sha face, his inability to understand internet references, and a summer box office hit, Cillian Murphy is without a doubt this summer’s most disturbing hot man. Even though half of Oppenheimer is black and white, you can somehow tell that his eyes, which are equal parts dazzling and predatory, are icy blue. Murphy has always been hot, despite playing some of cinema’s scariest men (28 Days Later, Red Eye), and that in itself is a coup. This summer he managed to play the man who invented a bomb that killed hundreds of thousands of people while looking like a scrawny rag doll and still came out on top as one of the season’s most beautiful men. It’s a great, confusing time for a Cillian Murphy fan.

I just watched Cillian Murphy ask what a meme is and I went insane with a lust for him so great I almost completely forgot his disgusting big blue predatory white walker eyes that he always wide holding open like he just saw face of god or something

Pierce Brosnan is 70 years old, but if you saw his appearance in the newly released Netflix movie The Outlaws, you’d just never know – the actor has aged like a fine (County Cork) wine. While we’re concerned about his involvement with questionable facial hair, we still welcome him to the canon of Irish beauties with open arms. After all, this is the man who played James Bond for almost a decade, so we just have to do it.

Paul Mescal

Nobody has done more for men who love a simple silver chain than Paul Mescal. As if these photos of him as a football commentator on the side weren’t enough, Searchlight Pictures just got a first look at his new movie All of Us Strangers, starring Andrew Scott. He also wore a cute little ascot tie (similar to the British Tonys) to the 2023 Olivier Awards, and against all odds it worked. (Also, don’t forget his look for the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar party, which single-handedly made a case for men’s bell-bottoms.)

After winning both a BAFTA and a 2023 Chopard Trophy, Daryl McCormack is ready for his best summer ever. After starring in Bad Sisters and Good Luck to You Leo Grande, he took on the role of an aspiring young writer in the thriller The Lesson, which hits theaters in June. He also posed for the cover of ELLE UK’s March issue because did you SEE this man?

Hozier

There’s something about Hozier that drives girls reading books on Friday nights absolutely wild. Born in Ireland from Bray (born Andrew John Hozier-Byrne), he released his self-titled album in 2014 and nine years later the lyrics to it are still going viral on TikTok. Yes, “No Grave Can Hold My Body / I Crawl Home To Her” is trending right now as women try to balance the singer’s incredibly romantic nature with the men in her own life. As one TikToker put it, “The way Hozier writes lyrics like this, we have to deal with ‘you up’.” Apparently he has a new album out on August 18 because – yes – it’s a hot Irish boy summer.
