Taylor Swift has bad blood with a 21-year-old student who tracked her movements on a private jet.
The singer, who has a whopping net worth of over $1 billion, is known for her use of private jets.
Since information about private jets is considered public information in the United States, aviation enthusiast and student Jack Sweeney often follows celebrity flights and shares the information on X.
He runs an X-page with the handle “@SwiftJetNextDay” and has created accounts for other stars who take to the skies in their private planes, such as Kim Kardashian, Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
However, if you want, you can implement the “Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed” (LADD) program.
This “provides aircraft owners the opportunity to filter their flight data from distribution via the FAA’s System Wide Information Management (SWIM) data feed or from public display by websites participating in the program.”
However, the data is still available on independent websites – such as ADS-B Exchange – which do not cover these FAA requests.

Given that Sweeney frequently shared information about Swift's movements on the private jet, her lawyers have issued a cease-and-desist letter to the 21-year-old student.
Sweeney, a University of Central Florida student, received the letter in December 2023.
Part of it is that Swift would have “no choice but to take all legal action” if he didn't stop his “stalking and harassing behavior,” the Washington Post reports.
The singer's attorney, Katie Wright Morrone, also wrote that Sweeney's actions caused “direct and irreparable harm, emotional and physical distress” to Swift and her family and left her in “constant fear for her personal safety.”
Swift's lawyer went on to say that it was a matter of “life or death” for the “Bad Blood” hitmaker.
But Sweeney sees no problem with what he's doing and thinks the letter is just a scare tactic.

“This information is already out there,” he told The Post. “Your team believes they can control the world.”
Elsewhere, Sweeney stressed that he meant no harm in following the singer's flights.
He told The Verge: “I think it's important to note that I don't mean to cause any harm anywhere. I actually think Swift has some good songs.”
“I believe in transparency and public information.”
In addition to tracking private jet landings and takeoffs, Sweeney also shares estimates of the flights' associated fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
