Newly appointed DC Studios co-CEO director James Gunn is among many celebrities sending prayers and thoughts to Jeremy Renner following his snow plow accident.
Over the weekend, Renner was plowing the road about a quarter mile from his home in Nevada on New Year’s Eve (December 31) when the plow, a snowcat, accidentally ran over one of the Marvel actor’s legs.
Renner’s neighbor, a doctor, reportedly saved his life by putting a tourniquet on his leg to slow blood loss until paramedics arrived. He was then flown to hospital, where a spokesman confirmed he was receiving “excellent” care.
Since news of the accident broke, celebrities have shared their well wishes with the Hawkeye star on social media.
“My heart goes out to Jeremy Renner,” Gunn wrote on Twitter alongside the prayer hands emoji.
“My God,” added Frozen star Josh Gad, “I’m praying for Jeremy Renner and his family.”
Lithuanian actress Simmona (A Dark Foe) wrote that she “couldn’t even sleep all night – anxiety x5000”.
“Why do all the bad things always happen to the most amazing, kind, loving people?” she asked, prompting Renner to “hang in there.”
British actor Danny Hatchard (EastEnders) wished Renner a “full and speedy recovery”.
“Sending thoughts and prayers for Jeremy Renner,” tweeted actor Robert Patrick (The Terminator).
Front of the Class’s Treat Williams shared that “I do my own plowing, too.”
“Thoughts for Jeremy Renner and his family today,” said the 71-year-old actor. “Get well soon.”
“My sweet Jer,” added fellow Marvel character Tara Strong (Loki). “I’ve loved you for decades. From a Seniors Journey to the #MCU. Sending light and strength to you and your closest healing love for a full recovery.”
Renner is said to have suffered “widespread” injuries from the accident, a source told People.
