I Tried and Ranked 5 Celebrities’ Starbucks Orders

  • Celebrities, like the rest of us, have special Starbucks orders tailored to their tastes.
  • With that in mind, I tried and rated five different celebrity favorite drinks.
  • The winner was a Starbucks classic and a drink I order all the time.

A person’s Starbucks order is serious business, and everyone has their favorite drink — even celebrities.

Hot or iced, soy or lean, tea or coffee, we all have our preferences.

With that in mind, I set out to find out which star drink is the front runner.

For this ranking, I spent two days testing Pedro Pascal’s six-shot espresso concoction, Taylor Swift’s caramel latte, Zendaya’s favorite matcha latte, Kim Kardashian’s tried-and-true white mocha, and Katy Perry’s favorite vanilla soy latte.

So the orders from the A-listers have piled up.

5. Pedro Pascal’s six-shot espresso drink wasn’t my cup of tea.

Pedro Pascal’s Starbucks order first went viral in March when his encounter with a fan was caught on video, but everyone could only focus on the Starbucks drink he was holding.

According to the drink label, Pascal orders an iced quad espresso with two extra shots in a venti cup.

Insider reporter Palmer Haasch did the math and found that this particular drink contains a whopping 450 mg of caffeine — 50 more than the FDA’s daily recommendation.

I paid $5.85 for the drink and was excited to see what that cup of caffeine would do to me.

In terms of taste, the taste of the drink met my expectations: slightly bitter and super strong. I drank about half before throwing in the towel. You have to be a die-hard coffee lover to like this one.

I’m happy to report that after about an hour I wasn’t feeling too nervous, which was a plus. However, I can’t imagine ever ordering this drink again.

4. I wanted Taylor Swift’s caramel latte to be sweeter.

According to Food 52, in November 2021 Taylor Swift partnered with Starbucks to bring her favorite beverage to the menu in time for the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), a re-recording of the 2012 album.

The drink in question was a Grande non-fat caramel latte.

I couldn’t figure out if the singer would prefer hot or iced, so I went with hot since the collaboration happened in the fall.

Since Swift’s latte is unfortunately no longer on the menu, I had to improvise a bit.

To recreate the drink, I ordered a Grande Caffè Latte with non-fat milk and added caramel syrup, which is essentially what a caramel latte is made of.

The drink, which cost $5.55, was good, but the caramel flavor didn’t quite come through like I’d hoped.

It tasted more like a regular latte with a hint of caramel. It’s possible my barista used a little too little syrup, or maybe my homemade Swiftie Latte was missing something that was included in the 2021 version.

3. I really liked Katy Perry’s vanilla dairy-free latte.

The world discovered Katy Perry’s Starbucks order when she tweeted about the great service she received at a Chicago location in 2014.

According to Starbucks, Jason, the barista who made Katheryn’s tall vanilla latte with soy milk, said his “heart skipped a beat” when he realized who he was making the drink for.

I was excited to try this drink because I really like the taste of soy milk in lattes and I wasn’t disappointed.

The $5.45 coffee was sweet but not overly sweet, and the vanilla flavor was complemented by the almost nutty flavor of the soy milk, which cost an extra $0.70.

I would definitely order Perry’s Pick again.

2. Zendaya’s matcha selection was a welcome change from regular coffee.

Zendaya’s Starbucks fondness became public knowledge in February 2022, when a Starbucks barista revealed the “Euphoria” star’s order on Twitter.

“I just took Zendaya’s Starbucks order and I don’t know how I’ll be doing for the rest of the year,” @notlikeothrgrIs tweeted after the encounter.

In a follow-up tweet, she revealed that Zendaya ordered an aerated matcha tea latte with coconut milk.

I had never tried matcha before trying this $5.35 latte and was curious to see how it tasted.

I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle and earthy taste of the matcha. It was a nice break from all the coffee I had been drinking.

The coconut milk, which also cost an extra $0.70, added a nice creaminess to the bright green drink.

I will definitely be adding this one to my Starbucks rotation.

1. Kim Kardashian’s white mocha favorite was mine too.

Kim Kardashian’s order was my favorite of the five, but being a drink I order often, I’m a little biased.

Kardashian first spoke about her order in a video on Ellen DeGeneres’ YouTube channel in 2017.

“I don’t really drink coffee, but when I need one to wake up, I grab the smallest white chocolate mocha with whipped cream and down about three sips,” the SKIMS founder said in the video.

Almost six years later, in June, Kardashian confirmed on Twitter that her order was still the same.

I never thought Kardashian and I would have so much in common as a white chocolate mocha has been a Starbucks staple of mine for years. However, I prefer ice cream and leave out the whipped cream. I also take more than a few sips.

The drink, which costs $4.95, is super sweet and rich. It’s like dessert in a cup.

Unfortunately my whipped cream had melted by the time I got home with the drink but I still enjoyed it.

Kim Kardashian’s Starbucks order was by far the tastiest.

Overall, none of these celebrity Starbucks orders were inedible, but some were far better than others.

It was fun to break out of my regular order and try something different, and while I personally see no reason why anyone would want six espresso shots on ice, you really can’t taste it until you’ve tasted it.

Ultimately, it comes down to taste, and with that criterion in mind, Kardashian takes the crown.

There’s simply nothing better than a white chocolate mocha.
