AAfter the turmoil Elon Musk went through over a rumor that he was a billionaire, he slept with Nicole Shanahan, wife of tech tycoon and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
One of the things that triggered it was that part of the rumor claimed Musk got on one knee and asked for forgiveness.
The Wall Street Journal was the one to claim Musk did the following: “We are confident in our sourcing and we stand by our reporting.”
Musk wrote to the New York Post
Musk immediately went to the New York Post and denied all the allegations, assuring that both he and Brin remained best friends and that there were no issues. “I would only kneel to propose marriage.
“And I didn’t propose to Sergey,” Musk joked.
When asked if he would sue the Wall Street Journal, he replied by email: “Legal action by a public figure against a news organization in America is futile. Better refute or ignore on Twitter, which is what I mostly do.”
They didn’t speak
“I spoke to both Sergey and Nicole about the article and they were both adamant that they had neither spoken to the WSJ nor authorized anyone to speak on their behalf,” Musk commented.
“In addition, from Saturday evening to yesterday afternoon I was at Sergey’s with many mutual friends and it was a super positive mood.”
He just saw her with more people around
Musk also affirmed that he only saw Shanahan twice in the three years and “with a lot of people around.”
“We weren’t romantically involved in any way,” Musk said on Twitter
He will only focus on his projects
“The amount of attention on me has gone supernova, which sucks,” Musk continued in the Twitter thread. “Will do my best to concentrate, with my head down, on doing useful things for civilization.”
