Reactions go further back to the arrest of Ice Prince Zamani, who is said to have assaulted a police officer.
This time, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe was responding to comments from Paul Okoye of the PSquare duo.
“Celebrities pointless” was Mr Edafe’s response to a GistReel.com tweet, quoting the celebrity as saying, “As long as a cop gets in my car and tells me to drive, he’s a criminal or a kidnapper.” .

Nigerians on Twitter clearly couldn’t take the senior police officer’s response.
@MgbeahuruRanso1 responds to staff and says: “A very harsh comment from an officer. It would have been better if you had enlightened him or the public wouldn’t say so. Your men like that too much. They get into your car and tell you to drive off. Where?”
Mr Edafe appeared ready to counter criticism from netizens as he went further, responding to a reply: “I pray that we start to reason properly in this society of ours, especially our youth. He was taken to court, if the court thinks he did nothing wrong let them decide. QED”.
The celebrity’s arrest has sparked controversy, leading other celebrities such as 2 Face Idibia to also criticize the development.
Judge Taiwo Oyaniyi awarded the hip-hop star a sum of N500,000 and he must also provide the court with two responsible sureties.
