Celebrities are becoming more open about their parenting journey, including breastfeeding celebrities.
World Breastfeeding Week takes place from August 1st to 7th and aims to raise awareness of breastfeeding.
From famous supermodels like Ashley Graham and Gisele Bundchen, to actresses like Hilary Duff and Jessica Alba, to reality TV superstars and influencers like Khloé Kardashian, many celebrity parents have spoken openly about the hardships, sorrows, joys, and heartaches of breastfeeding.
In a 2023 interview on The Daily Show, supermodel Ashley Graham spoke about how difficult it is for so many people to share their personal opinions on their breastfeeding decisions, despite knowing that those opinions “shouldn’t make any mother feel guilty.” . own reality.
“There’s also this whole thing about people telling you how to feed your kid,” Graham, 35, told guest host Chelsea Handler at the time. “With my first child, I thought, ‘All I could do was breastfeed.’ This is the right way.'”
“I had the twins and I was like, ‘I’m not doing this.’ That doesn’t work here. Do you both want both? “It’s a lot of work,” Graham continued.

Comedian Amy Schumer gave birth to her first child, son Gene, on May 5, 2019.
In a May 2019 Instagram post to her more than 13 million followers, Schumer shared a photo of herself strapped to her breast pump.
“Guys, what are we doing tonight?” Schumer captioned the post, tagging Vanderpump Rules alumna Stassi Schroder and poking fun at the reality TV star with her “outfit of the day.”

Shortly thereafter, in December of that year, Schumer spoke on the Informed Pregnancy and Parenting podcast about her decision to stop breastfeeding after a month.
“We called in a lactation expert. He didn’t respond and I just didn’t feel the urge to make it happen,” the comedian said at the time. “Then I pumped for the first month. Then I thought, ‘Not for me’… This is not for me and I didn’t want to do it.”
Schumer said that while she understands that some people “absolutely love” breastfeeding and is “happy for them,” the experience has consistently “driven me insane.”
“Then it occurred to me that I might quit. I thought: ‘I’ll stop’…. And then I just took away one pumping session each week,” Schumer added. “You are important and it will be better for your baby if you are well.”
Jessica Alba
Actress and entrepreneur Jessica Alba is the proud mother of three children – Honor Marie Warren, 15, Haven Garner Warren, 11, and Hayes Alba Warren, 5.
The actress has been open about work-life balance and breastfeeding as a working mom.
In a February 2018 Instagram post, Alba shared a still selfie showing the mother feeding her son at work.
“I went to my @honest office for a board meeting today, although technically I’m still on mat leave. In a 2018 reply to a fan on Twitter, Kardashian revealed why she decided to stop breastfeeding her daughter True, who was then seven months old.
“I’ve been trying to breastfeed for weeks!” Kardashian tweeted. “It was very painful for me, but I wasn’t producing much milk either. So I had to pump every time she took a nap. I guess my milk wasn’t coming in due to my stress.”
In a follow-up, Kardashian tweeted that she “tried literally everything” to continue breastfeeding.
“Doctors came to check up, I met with the lactation specialist, I did weight pumps, I drank tea, ate biscuits, did special massages, etc. It just didn’t work for me,” she tweeted at the time. “Once True started[losing weight]because I had to put her on formula.”

Rachel McAdams gave birth to her son in 2018 and her daughter in 2020.
For a photo shoot with “Girls. Girls. Girls. Magazine” in 2018, McAdams caused a stir by posing with a breast pump.
“A million reasons why I wanted to post this picture.
