Celebrities Stop By Iowa City To Watch Caitlin Clark in Action

Iowa women’s basketball games are more than just “games” this season. Caitlin Clark and Co. sold out the entire season shortly after tickets went on sale. Everyone wants to watch this Iowa team forever. But how do you know that women's basketball in Iowa goes beyond sports? When the celebrities show up at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena like they did last weekend.

The Iowa women welcomed not one, but TWO star-studded fans to Carver for their game against Bowling Green on Saturday. Hawk Central reports that WNBA legend Sue Bird and actors Jason Sudeikis sat in the front row and hoped that Caitlin Clark and Co. would put on a show. The Iowa game wasn't their only basketball stop, as the two played the Kansas vs. UConn game on Friday night. Bird starred at UConn, while Sudeikis is a Kansas native. While sitting on the sidelines of Carver, the two were shown on the big screen and fans convinced Sudeikis to do his Ted Lasso victory dance!

The #4 Hawkeyes finished with a 99-65 win over Bowling Green. Caitlin Clark finished the game with another impressive tally of 24 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Hawk Central reports that Clark received plenty of help from her supporting cast. Sydney Affolter had 14 points and didn't miss a shot. Kate Martin had 17 points and five rebounds. Sharon Goodman had a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Hawk Central reports that Iowa shot 67% from the field overall. Thanks to this performance, a visit from some celebrities to the dressing room on Saturday was well-deserved.
