Celebrities, models throng premiere of ‘Parde Mein Rehne Do’

LAHORE: The red carpet premiere of “Parde Mein Rehne Do” at the Cinestar was a top-class affair. More than 200 celebrities, models and media people crowded the red carpet late Friday night for the premiere of Parde Mein Rehne Do.

The highly anticipated film stars Ali Rehman Khan and Hania Aamir. While she and film director Wajahat Rauf drew the most attention, this film also brought out new faces. Actors Imran Ashraf, Amar Khan and Momin Saqib make their debut. Talented teenager Aashir Wajahat, son of Wajahat Rauf, is the film’s music director and it is his debut.

It’s fun to watch the film. It’s about impotence, which is taboo in our society. This film brings light into the darkness with humor and opens a conversation about an important topic.

Hania Aamir, charming as ever, wore a cream silk saree with a stripe of orange floral print that looked very refreshing. The only other person wearing a sari was producer Shazia Wajahat. Ali Rehman Khan had adorned a suit and film director Wajahat Rauf a three-piece suit.

Mother-daughter duo Saba Faisal and Sadia Faisal were among the first to arrive. Sadia Faisal wore a shimmering peachy one-piece dress with a flowing cape behind her. Nirmal Roy, the slim young singer who sang the song “Chal Chalain” in the film, also wore a shimmering black one-piece suit.

Munazza Arif, who is also in the cast with Javed Sheikh in Parde Mein Rehne Do, said: “Everyone has to come and see the film. It’s so much fun.” Praising Javed Sheikh, she said, “He took me in so beautifully.”

Noorul Hassan, who has a role in the film Parde Mein Rehne Do and works in Geo’s Chaudhry and Sons, which received much acclaim, said: “Five mainstream films are coming. May they become famous five.”

Famous musician and singer Shiraz Uppal, film director Jawad Bashir, actor Daniyal Zafar, model Anusheh Asad and many others were present. Shiraz Uppal said he really liked the mood of the film Parde Mein Rehnay Do. “Music complements film. It’s exciting to compose music,” he said.

There will be four Urdu films, two Punjabi and two Pushto films in cinemas on this Eid. Parde Mein Rehne Do is released on Eidul Fitr by Geo Films and Eveready Pictures.
