Deadline for mobile sports betting in New York
For the past month, top sports betting executives have worked feverishly preparing bids for New York’s tightly monitored mobile sports betting bidding process. When the winners are announced around Christmas Day, the New York Gaming Commission is expected to license mobile sports betting to at least two platform providers and four operators. New York bids are due at 4 p.m. ET Monday afternoon. Major sports betting companies like DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are expected to place their bids by Monday. The top books could even join forces and form a “super offer” by joining forces for the same application. Sports betting technology providers (Kambi) and tribal gaming companies (Oneida Indian Nation) are also expected to participate in the bidding process. If selected, a platform provider must pay the commission a one-time license fee of $ 25 million.

Possible last Arlington Million at Arlington Racecourse
When Arlington International Racecourse missed a deadline last month to apply for race dates for the 2022 season, it confirmed the worst fear of many Chicago area horse racing fans: that the historic circuit could be on the verge of closing its doors forever . Built in 1927, Arlington was put up for sale by Churchill Downs Inc. On Saturday, the Grade I Arlington Million will take place on the track, an event that annually ranks among the most prestigious lawn races in the world. In 2019, the Eclipse Award Horse of the Year Bricks and Mortar won the million in 1: 59.44, setting the fastest time in the race in almost 25 years. The bid for the 326 acre property has attracted considerable attention over the summer, with reports surfacing that the Chicago Bears are among the bidders.
