Roommate, she may be the newly elected Vice President of the United States – but Kamala Harris is proving she knows her way around the kitchen too! Just before Thanksgiving, Kamala Harris released her recipe for dressing cornbread, and many fans wondered what other secret skills she had up her sleeve.
Unfortunately, while Thanksgiving will be very different sooner than it has been in years past due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris shares her love of cooking in the hope that a little food can put you in a better mood.
She recently released the full length recipe of her famous cornbread dressing and fans couldn’t get enough. After posting the recipe on Twitter, she wrote the following message:
“In difficult times, I have always turned to cooking. This year I wanted to share with you one of my family’s favorite Thanksgiving recipes. I hope whenever you can make it in life it brings you as much warmth as it has brought me – even when separated from those I love. “
Kamala’s cornbread dressing recipe included cornbread, sausage, apples, chicken broth, and more – but this isn’t the first time she has shared her cooking skills with the world.
In 2019, she shared her tips on how to roast a turkey. Recommendation: “Do it like a pot of water, a few bay leaves, a little sugar, a cup of peppercorns, you could even make a slice of orange, something like that,” she said at the time.
We are curious to see if she will have plenty of time to cook when she officially takes office on January 21, 2021 together with President-elect Joe Biden.
