Whale Moves Bitcoin (BTC) Amid FBI Alerts
Significant bitcoin (BTC) transfers were reported again, often setting the stage for market speculation. There have been two significant BTC transactions in the last 24 hours.
This transaction has sparked debate within the crypto community, particularly because it comes shortly after the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) warned crypto firms that funds linked to North Korean hacking organizations Lazarus Group and APT38 to be in contact, to be on the move.
A possible bitcoin sell-off in sight?
Today’s notifications from Whale Alert drew attention to a transfer of approximately 4,800 BTC (approximately $124.95 million) between two unnamed wallets.

What caught the eye of many was that this large sum had gone to Coinbase, one of the leading US cryptocurrency exchanges. It’s worth noting that such transfers on exchanges have occasionally led to sell-offs in the past, leading to speculation about a possible fall in Bitcoin’s value.
BTC, North Korean Connections and the FBI Warning
While significant bitcoin movements are not uncommon, the timing of these transfers coincided with an urgent warning from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), as noted above. The agency has warned crypto platforms about moves linked to North Korean hacker groups Lazarus Group and APT38.
The bureau also raised concerns that North Korea might attempt to liquidate bitcoin. The means supposedly In the past day alone, a total of almost $40 million has been moved related to these cybercriminal groups.
The warning underscores the importance of private sector companies carefully examining the blockchain data associated with these addresses. The statement states:
Private sector companies should examine the blockchain data associated with these addresses and be vigilant to prevent transactions directly involving or derived from the addresses.
However, it is important to note that there has been no clarification to date that a direct link has been made between the Bitcoin transactions reported by Whale Alert and the BTC movements linked to North Korean hackers.
Still, the coincidental timing of these significant transfers cannot be ignored. If both moves are selling, Bitcoin’s price could have a noticeable impact that could potentially lead to another decline in the asset.
Regardless, Bitcoin has seen quite an uptrend over the past 24 hours, increasing its value by 2.1%, with the current market price at $26,386 at the time of writing and a trading volume of $17 billion.
