MicroStrategy has expanded its Bitcoin portfolio and secured an additional 3,000 BTC. From February 15 to February 25, 2024, this acquisition involved a significant investment of $155.4 million.
Notably, the average purchase price per Bitcoin was around $51,813, including all associated fees and costs.
MicroStrategy sells stocks to buy Bitcoin
This strategic purchase was funded through a combination of proceeds from stock sales and available cash reserves, as outlined in the company's most recent SEC filings. As a result, MicroStrategy's Bitcoin holdings have risen to an impressive total of around 193,000 BTC. The company acquired BTC for a total price of $6.09 billion, which corresponds to an average price of $31,544 per Bitcoin.
“MicroStrategy is on another level with its Bitcoin game,” wrote decentralized exchange RichQuack.
Previously, in January, MicroStrategy added 850 BTC worth $37.2 million to its Bitcoin reserves, bringing its total holdings to 190,000. This acquisition highlights the company's solid financial strategy and bullish outlook on Bitcoin.

Additionally, MicroStrategy's successful integration of artificial intelligence into its business intelligence solutions marked a significant milestone in 2023.
But amid this financial progress, MicroStrategy suffered a cybersecurity breach on Monday. The company's X account was the victim of a hacker attack. This breach resulted in the distribution of a fraudulent announcement promoting a new crypto token, MSTR, to the company's large follower base.
The fraudulent post, which was later removed, tricked users into claiming free tokens by linking their wallets, resulting in significant financial losses for those caught up in the scam. According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, the phishing scheme has already siphoned $440,000 from unsuspecting victims.
