According to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and exchanges are meeting to finalize comments on spot Bitcoin ETFs. Specifically, Terret reported that the agency is meeting with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Nasdaq and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe).
The meeting comes amid speculation about an impending rejection that surfaced early Wednesday. In fact, the reports led to a general market downturn, with more than $540 million liquidated from the crypto market in just four hours. However, today's meeting is in line with larger market expectations of an impending approval early next week.

SEC Meeting with NYSE, Nasdaq and Cboe on Spot Bitcoin ETFs
There has been a lot of excitement in the digital asset industry over the past few months about a potential spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States. Subsequently, this excitement led Bitcoin (BTC) to surpass $45,000 for the first time since 2022. Now, despite increasing speculation, such approval appears to be back on track.
Fox Business reported, Eleanor Terrett reported that the SEC and various exchanges are meeting today to make final comments on spot Bitcoin ETF issuers. Specifically, Terrett noted that the agency is holding an important meeting this week with NYSE, Nasdaq and Cboe

The report states that the meeting will “conclude comments on the 19b-4 submitted by the… [Bitcoin 9BTC)] Discover ETF issuers.” Many expect the approval to take effect early next week, with Jan. 10 serving as the deadline for the more than a dozen potential issuers.
Despite speculation about a rejection, Bloomberg's Erich Balchunas recently confirmed that there was “nothing other than approval” for the investment product. Furthermore, Balchunas described Terret’s report as a sign of “approval.” [is] is imminent” for the spot Bitcoin ETF issuers.
